Descripción del trabajo - Geographic Information System Specialist (ESRI Platform) Construction Projects

Job Description

Due to growth and ongoing delivery success with our clients, Turner & Townsend's Digital Management division in Spain requires a Geographic Information System Specialist to join the team in Madrid.

Our team believes that a better-built industry is a better-built world. We connect strategy, data, and technology to transform performance. We do so by:

  • Leveraging technology and digital ways of working
  • Implementing robust governance frameworks for successful digital initiatives
  • Streamlining project execution with advance technology and connected data
  • Organizing project data and enabling automation.

As a Geographic Information System Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing and maintaining robust enterprise Geodatabases using the ESRI platform, which will be essential for supporting spatial data management and analysis. The role requires a candidate that combines the technical expertise to build the Geodatabases with great communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts into plain language terms that can be understood at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their spatial data needs and requirements needed to build the client’s on-premises and public-facing GeoDatabases. Liaise with different teams to gather geospatial information requirements for environmental monitoring.
  • Database design: Design the structure of the GeoDatabase, including feature datasets, feature classes, attribute tables, domains, relationships, and spatial indexes, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Data modeling: Develop data models that reflect the client’s requirements, processes, and workflows, ensuring that spatial data is organised, stored efficiently and makes for simple and efficient display, editing, and analysis.
  • Data migration: Coordinate the auditing and migration of existing spatial data from various sources into the client’s enterprise GeoDatabase, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • GeoDatabase administration: Configure and administer the client’s GeoDatabase, including user access control, versioning, replication, and performance tuning to ensure optimal functionality and security.
  • Metadata management: Establish metadata standards and documentation procedures for the GeoDatabase, ensuring that data is well documented and easily discoverable by users.
  • Quality assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to validate the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of spatial data within the GeoDatabase.
  • Training and support: Provide training and support to users on how to access, query, and update spatial data in the on-premises and public-facing GeoDatabases using ESRI software tools and applications.
  • Integration: Integrate the GeoDatabases with other client’s enterprise systems and applications, for example with AssetWise, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability.
  • Spatial analysis: Perform spatial analysis tasks using ESRI tools and extensions to support decision-making and spatial data-driven insights for the client.
  • Documentation: Document all aspects of the client’s enterprise GeoDatabase design, implementation, and maintenance, including data dictionaries, schemas, workflows, and best practices.
  • Continuous improvement: Keep abreast of latest ESRI technologies, updates, and best practices to continuously improve the client's spatial data infrastructure.
