MYP Sciences & DP Biology Teacher SEK Catalunya

SEK Catalunya needs to incorporate a Teacher for this academic year to teach:
- Sciences in MYP
- Biology in DP.

MISSION:

Empowering students to become inquirers, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners through the exploration of biology and environmental sciences, life processes, natural phenomena, environmental dynamics, and effective communication strategies. Educating and inspiring students to critically understand and address environmental issues, fostering interdisciplinary knowledge, global citizenship, and practical skills for sustainable development.

FUNCTIONS:

• Attend department meetings and participate in collaborative planning sessions.
• Develop and implement teaching plans for the subject,and other areas within the department.
• Develop and implement laboratory practices and field trips for Biology and ESS.
• Take part in standardizing assessment tasks.
• Contribute to curriculum research and improvement.
• Stay updated on the IB program guides taught.
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Biology or Natural Sciences.
• Master in Teaching
• Teaching experience, preferably in one of the IB programmes (MYP and/or Diploma) in the areas of Biology or Social Sciences.
• Native or near native speaker English level.
• Speaking Spanish and Catalan will be valued.
• Microsoft Office user.
• Experience with other educational platforms to enhance classroom dynamics and promote such tools with the team will be appreciated.
