Photonic Integration Engineer

Axiomatic_AI's mission: Axiomatic_AI is launching with the aim to accelerate R&D by "Automated Interpretable Reasoning" (AIR) -- a verifiably truthful AI model built for reasoning in science and engineering. Responsibilities: - Take a leading role in solving challenging photonics integration and co-design problems by building automated reasoning in engineering - Translate project objectives into clear technical software requirements for photonics integration and design processes. - Work with our AI team to develop cutting-edge AI and machine learning methods to photonic circuit design and integration challenges. - Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of photonics researchers, integration engineers, and AI specialists. Your role involves sharing expertise, brainstorming innovative solutions, and contributing to a cohesive team environment to achieve project milestones and deliverables. Qualifications: - Master's degree (or equivalent) in Photonics Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in photonic integration, design, and/or fabrication processes. - Strong knowledge of photonic integration methodologies, tools, and techniques, including PIC design platforms (e.g., Lumerical, VPIphotonics, or equivalent). - Expertise in designing high-performance photonic devices, such as waveguides, modulators, detectors, or similar components. - Familiarity with silicon photonics, III-V materials, or other integration platforms is highly desirable. - Experience with photonics simulation, layout, and characterization. - Proficiency in coding or scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for design automation and analysis. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
