Job Description - VIE Equity Derivatives Sales

Responsibilities

The Global Markets functions is a trusted partner to external clients (Corporates, Financial institutions and Asset Managers) in market activities, offering a cross-expertise in Research, Investment and Risk Solutions, Execution and Prime Services. From cash execution, equity finance, exotic derivatives to structured products, Societe Generale’s Equities & Derivatives department integrates all Societe Generale’s capabilities in equities. Our objective is to bring flexible and innovative equity solutions adapted to our clients’ investment strategies and to current market conditions. With a global presence around the world, our equities & derivatives department offers 24 hours service. In addition to sales and traders, our clients can leverage on our strong financial engineers’ capabilities to answer their needs.

About the role:

We are looking for a driven and curious candidate to join us as at SG Stockholm. In your role as a V.I.E Equity Derivatives Sales you will have the unique opportunity to be an integral part of two business lines: equity derivatives and cross asset financing. Working with two seasoned professionals in the heart of the global financial markets, the V.I.E will assist in numerous business tasks, bring forth new ideas and in time have an independent role in client coverage and communication. Your tasks will include pricing and booking trades, monitoring new SG research, working on KYC and developing analysis for the desks.

Task and responsibilities include:

• Be an integral part of the entire sales process

• Interact with key internal stakeholders, such as trading, structuring, legal, middle office and back-office teams in Paris and London

• Support sales staff in implementing sales business plan to develop SG business

• Support development of relationships and execute transactions with clients

• Data management including CRM and PnL data

• Maintain up to date intelligence on market initiatives and client demands

• Support senior sales team in response to various request from clients related to products, on boarding process, events, documentation; analyze, investigate, research, manage and resolve queries received from clients; Support new client on-boarding e.g. KYC and legal documentation to allow execution of transactions

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

• Graduate with a Master’s degree in Finance or Economics from an Engineering School or University

• Prior experience in financial markets is not required, but would be an asset

• Some market knowledge and potentially experience in Investment banking/Financial services industry

Language skills:

• Fluent in English

• Fluent in any Nordic language (Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian or Danish) is considered a plus

• French is considered a plus

Technical, operational & soft skills:

• Strong numerical and literacy skills

• Basic Python skills is a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A team player who proactively shares information and collaborates with others

• Highly motivated, proactive and entrepreneurial mindset

• Ability to take ownership and drive tasks to completion

• Demonstrate high level of responsibility and professional conduct

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Stockholm is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
