The successful candidate will be based in Bangkok and responsible for two roles – that of Internal Auditor and of Risk Manager.
Risk Management Role (60%)
This person will liaise with Project Risk Management team for reviewing and reporting findings and status to Company’s senior executives, Board of Directors and Group Risk Management. The position reports to the Director, Contract Management & Corporate Services in respect of the risk management role.
The successful candidate will work with the local Project Project Risk Management Team and the Singapore Head Office to manage risks according to an Enterprise Risk Management framework. Duties include the following:
establish the risk management framework for the company
design and implement an overall risk management process for the organisation, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on the company when risks occur
ensure that the organization's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations and aligned to the Group’s framework, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the company
perform risk assessment by working with the process owners to identify and analyse current risks and potential risks that affect the company
work with process owners to oversee and monitor all operational risk management activities of the company
provide inputs to the company’s risk committee
establish the level of risk the company is willing to take
coordinate with process owners to collate risk management and insurance budgets
prepare risk reports tailored to the relevant audience
work with process owners to create business continuity plans to limit risks
implement health and safety measures where applicable
conduct policy and compliance reviews, which includes liaising with external auditors
maintain risk register, records of insurance policies and claims
review new major contracts or internal business proposals
build risk awareness among staff by providing support and training within the company
Internal Audit Role (40%)
In this role, he or she will execute the audit plan encompassing operational and financial reviews for a Thai-based business unit within the Frasers Property Limited (FPL) Group. He/she will report functionally to the Head of Group Internal Audit of the FPL Group and the CEO of the Development Management Division of the local entity with which he is employed.
Responsibilities of the position will include the following:
adopt a risk-based audit methodology to review compliance with the FPL Group’s policies and approved procedures, effectiveness and efficiency of business processes and soundness of the systems of internal controls and risk management processes;
manage and monitor assigned portfolio based on the approved annual audit plan;
ensure that audit assignments are completed in a timely manner and within the project budget allocated;
Make value-added recommendations for process improvements;
present and discuss audit findings and recommendations with local and senior management, including presentation at Finance Committee or Board meetings where applicable;
prepare appropriate and accurate workpaper documentation in accordance with documentation standards maintained by Group Internal Audit Division;
prepare annual audit plan incorporating inputs from senior management and Head of Group Internal Audit;
follow up with management on the implementation of audit recommendations for quarterly reporting to the Finance Committee;
prepare / collate monthly reports to the Board and quarterly reports of project status to the Finance Committee;
coordinate and liaise with senior management team, external auditors and Group Internal Audit on audit matters;
perform ad hoc tasks and special projects / reviews as assigned from time to time; and
Recognized degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional accounting qualification or in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Political Science or other relevant majors
At least 5 years post qualifying audit experience with a Big 4 Accounting Firm or in the internal audit function of a multinational enterprise and at least 3 years in a risk management position
Strong interpersonal, business communications and report writing skills.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Familiarity with computer assisted auditing tools such as ACL and electronic workpaper applications such as TeamMate would be helpful
Possesses business process knowledge and a broad-based operational perspective and able to provide solutions for non-insurance related business risk issues
Possesses project management skills and ability to drive performance in all areas within the company
Self-driven, resourceful and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Real estate development / investment experience would be an advantage.
Familiarity with applicable regulations pertaining to real estate development in Thailand.
Fluent in written and spoken English and Thai.
