SQL Developer/Data Analyst (Junior-Mid Level)

Description:

We are currently looking for Junior-Mid SQL Developer/Data Analyst to join our Data team based in our Huawei Turkey R&D Center.

Responsibilities:

• Work on maintaining and providing support for business related question/issues analysis with HiveQL (similar with SQL)
• Employ big data solutions and build the ETL pipelines (Hadoop ecosystem)
• Develop, optimize and test HiveQL queries in the big data ecosystem and analyze complex data related issues and optimize solution.
• Using HiveQL, PySpark to translate data into meaningful insights and share with project members and stakeholders.
• Take responsibility on Maintenance, Migration, Design, Development, Test and Deployment process of requirements
• Developing and deploying scalable tools to handle big data analysis
• Define, develop and present executive-level insights and reports to senior leadership to support business decision making (internal BI tool usage)
• Analyze and resolve technical problems.
• Locate, analyze and enhance the performance of the applications and business problems
• Communicate with Business to build requirements and track progress

Qualifications & Experience:

• BSc or MSc degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field of study.
• Have minimum 1-3 years of experience for Junior and 4-10 years’ experience for Mid-Senior are needed.
• Proficiency in SQL - able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets.
• Experience working with Databases (in Huawei we’re working with HDFS, Gauss)
• Hands on experience in Unix/Linux Environments
• Working experience on Big Data platforms is a plus for Junior/ is a must for Mid&Senior, experience in Hadoop ecosystem including the ability to interact with data through Hive, Map Reduce, Spark
• Coding experience in at least one modern programming language (Scala, PySpark, Python etc.)
• Practical experience working with the following tools: Tableau, PowerBI (in Huawei, we are using internal tools for reporting)
• Hands-on experience on optimize complex queries by applying clean coding principles
• Experience on performing root cause analysis on data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
• Ability to start contributing to project from the get-go
• Hands on experience with project management tools such as JIRA
