Job Description - Restaurant Manager

Our client, large F & Band Entertainment company that has a dynamic and innovative Marketing andCommunications Department, is seeking a well-experienced Restaurant Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of F&B Operations and Commercial Leasing,the successful candidate is responsible for managing the restaurant outlet witha focus on service standards, customer satisfaction, staffing, operationalneeds, and financial targets.

Job responsibilities:

Ensures that thestaff deliver the brand promise and always provide exceptional guest service.

Ensures that thestaff provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments.

Observesemployee-guest interactions and coaches staff in guest service skills asnecessary.

Ensures that allguest and internal customer complaints and enquiries are handled in a timely,courteous, and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems areresolved satisfactorily.

Ensures that theoutlet is operated in line with goals to maximizes profitability whiledelivering on the brand promise.

Assists theDirector of F&B Operations in preparing the Annual Business Plan and budgetfor the outlet.

Supports theDirector of F&B Operations in analysing outlet business performance tofacilitate accurate and meaningful forecasting.

Proactivelymanages outlet financial targets and costs based on key performance indicators.

Ensures that theoperation complies with company and regulatory policies relating to financialrecord keeping and money handling.

Activelyparticipates in weekly yield and revenue management meetings, overseeing theappropriate pricing structures to maximize yield and overall profits across theentire operation.

Seizes marketingand promotional opportunities to raise awareness and drive outlet revenues.

Proactivelysupports the Director of F&B Operations and Head of Marketing &Communications to implement the Annual Marketing Plan for F&B operations.

Manages theoutlet, pursuing excellence and quality in all aspects of the operation.

Coordinatesproactively and collaboratively with consultant-partner organizations toimplement restaurant concept and ensure full delivery of brand promise.

Ensures that theoutlet and surrounding area is always kept clean and organized.

Oversees thepreparation and implementation of outlet manpower rosters to effectively meetoperational needs.

Monitors outletoperations, especially during peak business periods, making resourcingadjustments where necessary.

Ensures that theoperation and its staff flexibly support and collaborate with otherdepartments.

Ensures that thestaff are up to date with the availability of seasonal and new items on themenu.

Collaboratesclosely with the Head Chef/Executive Chef and team to optimize the outlet’soperation.

Monitors andmaintains the quality standards of food and beverage products served in theoutlet, providing feedback to the Head Chef/Executive Chef and Team whereappropriate.

Implementsquality management and regulatory compliance strategies by ensuring that allinternal and international standards are effectively implemented, , HACCP,health and safety standards, etc.

Managesinventory, placing orders for supplies as required by operational needs andbuilding good relationships with external suppliers and vendors.

Maintainsequipment to a high standard, obtaining technical support (as per operationalprocedures) to fix any equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.

Establishesclear direction, prioritizes tasks, assigns, and delegates responsibility,monitors individual performance, provides regular feedback, and takes promptaction where necessary.

Controls costsby ensuring that the outlet operation minimizes waste, spoilage, and breakages.

Drivesoperational profitability by upselling when opportunities to do so arise.

Ensures that theoperation complies fully with the organization’s policies and procedures.

Activelyparticipates in F&B management meetings.

Supportsbanqueting and other activities as assigned by the Director of F&BOperations.

Performs anyother duties assigned by the Director of F&B Operations as necessary.

Encourages andmotivates employees, building trust, respect, and cooperation within the team.

Ensures that apositive and harmonious work environment is maintained within the operation.

Reviews andapproves all HR-related issues ranging from staff personal issues (leaves, loanapprovals) to manpower planning.

Supports theDirector of F&B Operations with the recruitment, selection, and orientationof outlet staff.

Oversees thepunctuality and appearance of outlet staff, ensuring that the correct uniformis worn, and that staff maintain a high standard of personal appearance andhygiene, according to agree upon grooming standards.

Maximizes theeffectiveness of outlet staff by developing their skills and competenciesthrough appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.

Conducts annualperformance management reviews for outlet staff and supports them in theirprofessional development goals.

Plans andimplements effective training programs for staff members.

Ensures thatstaff follow all company and local policies, rules, and regulations, includingthose related to health and safety, security, etc.

Attends trainingsessions when required and keeps up to date with industrydevelopments/practices.
