Senior Conservation Structural Engineer, Resident Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Resident Engineer - Modern heritage building - Abu Dhabi  

Our Abu Dhabi team is currently looking for a highly qualified Senior Conservation Structural Engineer to join us as Resident Engineer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design review from conservation perspective; supervise conservation works, repair of reinforced concrete structures.
• Assess the condition of bearing structures.
• Guarantee the protection of the decorations and architectural finishes.
• Guarantee the respect of authenticity and integrity of heritage structures
• Coordinate and lead the contractor's skilled and unskilled laborers.
• Support the Director of the Abu Dhabi Branch in the management of the assignment and in the liaison with the Client.

EDUCATION:

• Msc (five years) Structural engineering; Master in structural assessmend and design of historical structures, both reinforced concrete and masonry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Conservation structural engineer with a minimum 10 years experience and, a minimum of 5 years experience in the assessment and improvement design of heritage structures, both masonry and reinforced concrete structure.
• At least 5 years of works supervision as Resident Engineer both masonry and reinforced concrete structure.
• Experienced in the structural and material repair and rehabilitation techniques.
• Experienced in the structural health assessment procedures.
• Experienced Reinforced Concrete treatment systems, chemical salt extraction andcathodic protection
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Good knowledge of main software, such as Windows Office, AUTOCAD, In Design,Photoshop, structural analysis software, etc.

SOFT SKILLS :

• Self-motivated, independent, proactive, and deeply passionate about heritage conservation. Flexible, hard worker, and able to work in stressful conditions. Good in time management, communication, and team working.
• Eager to work in the international context, GCC countries, emerging and developing countries.
• Possessing a driving license and available to drive in the projects countries, when necessary.

WORK LANGUAGE :

• English
• Arabic and Italian is an asset
