Your primary duties will encompass a comprehensive evaluation of patients, making precise diagnoses, and formulating tailored treatment plans that may include surgical interventions, chemotherapy, and other innovative therapies. You will also actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to collaborate on complex cases and advocate for the best patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients presenting with gynecological concerns, documenting medical histories, and performing comprehensive physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and laboratory assessments.
- Diagnose and classify types of gynecological tumors, determining their stage and severity.
- Design and implement personalized treatment strategies based on the specific needs of each patient.
- Perform advanced surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety and patient care.
- Manage chemotherapy and coordinate with radiation oncologists to optimize treatment plans.
- Monitor and manage post-treatment care, immediate and long-term, for patients.
- Engage with patients, providing educational support and addressing their concerns and questions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of recent advancements in gynecologic oncology.
- Contribute to research and clinical trials to further the field of gynecological oncology.
- Medical degree and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology.
- Board certification in Gynecologic Oncology.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological cancers.
- Proficient in surgical techniques, including minimally invasive options.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with patients compassionately and effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education in the oncology field.
