This business specialises in grid consultancy, private networks, and electricity distribution infrastructure, working closely with developers, ICPs, and DNOs across the UK. This role will focus on reviewing and developing new electricity network designs, supporting projects from initial concept through to energisation and final adoption. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring designs are technically compliant, commercially viable, and aligned with industry regulations. Key Responsibilities Review and approve new electricity network connection designs submitted by developers and ICPs for adoption Design and develop new electricity network connections, including determining Points of Connection (PoC) Produce and review 11kV and 33kV electrical network designs in line with industry standards Ensure all adoptable networks comply with company standards, NERS accreditation requirements, and regulatory legislation Work closely with DNO planning and design teams to maintain strong technical relationships Support projects from initial award through to adoption and energisation Review as-built submissions and support construction teams where design changes arise during delivery Coordinate with developers, ICPs, DNOs, and land rights teams to ensure projects progress efficiently Provide technical support across the wider engineering function where required Key Requirements Previous experience in a Senior Electrical Design Engineer / Design & Planning Engineer / Connections Engineer role Strong experience designing 11kV and 33kV electrical distribution networks ( 33kV experience is essential ) Background within ICP, IDNO, DNO, or utility connections environments Experience reviewing third-party designs and supporting adoption processes Strong understanding of G81, NERS, ENA documentation, and industry regulations Experience determining Point of Connection (PoC) and managing design approvals Strong communication and stakeholder management skills HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) Please note: sponsorship is not available for this role.
