Youth Emotional and Mental Health - Oxford

Our lovely school is looking for a Youth Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker to join them in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for their students. They believe that their students deserve the opportunity to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Your role will involve:

  1. Engaging with the students and ensuring that they are receiving a good blend of their education and interventions.
  2. Involvement in the development of student’s social skills, emotional regulation and academic engagement through the use of therapy.
  3. Gaining valuable information and insight into mental health issues to advocate for mental health awareness and interventions to support students.
  4. Making a positive impact on the lives of children who are struggling to cope in the classroom.

Your responsibilities as a Youth Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker:

  1. Foster trusting and supportive relationships with students, promoting their well-being and resilience.
  2. Assist with classroom activities, ensuring students are engaged and participating.
  3. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  4. Help model healthy coping strategies and social skills.
  5. Maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
  6. Work closely with students to implement individualized support to students with autism.
  7. Implement individualized therapeutic strategies.
  8. Support students in developing social communication skills.
