Synergy is seeking a Software Development Manager, who will lead a large Agile Development Team supporting an Enterprise Level Application.


Job Description: 

Responsible for Software Engineering across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including software architecture, requirements analysis and decomposition, software development, middleware design, coding and testing for modular implementation of interfaces, integration, and testing and evaluation. Delivers solution that meets requirements in Capability Requirements Document (CRD) and System Requirements Specification (SRS). Performs software systems engineering to ensure internal and external system and software interfaces are properly designed and documented. Provides software intensive development documents to create and test system interfaces. Determines Cloud/network hosting requirements and provides recommendations for the hosting solution.

Provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on moderately complex problems that require an appropriate level of knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation. Apply principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions.

Job Duties:

• Focus on business logic and process flows, working on the design and development of business logic, process models/flows and UI screens to implement in a BPM (Business Process Management)-based system.
• Direct Business Analysts to investigate customers’ requirements, prototype business solutions, and validate user story acceptance criteria.
• Manage team members to ensure proper fixes, unit testing, and configuration management.
• Develop Structured Query Language (SQL), update data models and implement common database best practices (indexes, triggers, and data structure).
• Manage daily work in the Atlassian suite of applications (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Bamboo).
• Direct DevOps team members to ensure timely and reliable releases to customer.
• Ensure software maintains data integrity, security, and best practice standards.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of SDLC application documentation.Qualifications:
  
• Active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
• 10 years of technical experience with implementation of Enterprise Business Systems including software architecture, requirements analysis and decomposition, software development, integration, and testing and evaluation.
• 2 years experience in BPM (Appian, JBoss BPMS, Activity, Oracle or IBM BPM, Pega, etc.).
• Understanding and hands-on experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with Agile tracking software
• Highly adaptable to rapidly changing environments and situations.
• Flexible and willing to accept change in priorities.
• Strong analytical, communication skills.
• Strong technical development background
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Highly adaptable to rapidly changing environments and situations.

• Must be a U.S. citizen, foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States or resident alien.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Appian software, implementation and ability to translate software requirements specifications into Appian applications and prototype.
• Using one or more Appian add-on tools, such as Expression Unit Tests, Deployment Automation Manager, FitNesse test creation, SAIL UI and Smart Services
• Database, UI, XML and XSLT experience.
• Knowledge of GIT and DevOps tooling.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence tools.
• JavaScript programming (general and component-based UI).
• Debug and work with log files.
• Federal Acquisition/Contracting Experience
