Overview:
January 2022 Nurse Resident Cohort - Will perform under the general supervision of the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, Department Directors, Clinical Managers, Preceptors, and Charge Nurses, Is responsible for providing patient care and assigned procedures for assigned patients. This Cohort will begin on January 17. 2022.
Responsibilities:
Performs direct and indirect patient care responsibilities as assigned by the charge nurse and/or preceptor.
Ensures patient safety.
Documents delivery of patient care and other pertinent information in patients’ medical record and updates plan of care for assigned patients as necessary.
Ensures the proper segregation and safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
Communicates information regarding patients and unit operations to RN, Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, Director, and other shifts in a timely manner using proper lines of communication.
Communicates effectively with other departments with personnel from other departments in the hospital using proper lines of communication.
Performs and documents secondary assessment on patients in Med/Surg, Progressive Care, Post Acute, and Skilled Nursing only.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Official transcript denoting graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
Must provide primary verification of passing the NCLEX examination and be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of TN prior to completion of the orientation period. Failure to do so will result in removal from the Nurse Resident program.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:
BLS certification must be kept current while in this position.
ACLS certification preferred but not required
EXPERIENCE:
Successful completion of a nursing program at an accredited school of nursing.
