Position Description


Position summary:

  • Schedule, Release and Complete work orders for assigned products across Systems, Reagents, and Consumables
  • Review and plan Work Orders based on equipment, material and supplies availability
  • Use ERP to manage inventory and allocate materials needed per Work Orders and communicate to Purchasing any parts shortage or low inventory.
  • Implement Cycle Counting per schedule to achieve the inventory control and accuracy objectives

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Resolve inventory problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending actions.
  • Identify process, material, or equipment problems to minimize down time, and recommend solutions to Operations Management
  • Perform daily cycle counts and all necessary inventory functions
  • Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Assist with shipping/receiving when required
  • Assist Quality Dept with inventory management and disposition of non-conforming parts
  • Ensure proper CO disposition for inventory (use-up, rework, scrap, etc)
  • Communicate with the Purchasing Team on low parts quantities to help drive production performance
  • Works under general direction. Independently plans work, and develops approach to solution.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned

Position Requirements


Special Skills or Preferred Experience:


  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly in writing and orally, and to interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Must have excellent problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Preferred experience with FDA, ISO13485, GDP, GLP and GMP environments
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, forklift certification preferred.
  • Able to work standing for 5-6 hours per shift
  • Proficient computer skills; i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, ERP

Minimum Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Production/Operations related field with 1-2 years of inventory management; Associates Degree in related field and 2-3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
