Our Latin America Group (LAG) is looking for a motivated, creative, business-oriented Sr. Product Marketing Manager to develop and execute the product strategy for Black + Decker Power Tools and Outdoor Products in Latin America. This position will be responsible for making our products “fly-off the shelf”, both online and offline by working with the country Product Marketing Teams to ensure strategy execution and create the tactics needed to drive success in sales and marketing. This position plays a key role in organizing, planning and launching new products successfully by knowing our competitors “like the back of your hand” and our buyers “better than they know themselves” including how they make their buying decisions gathering strategic market insights to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales channels to be successful.
 
The ability to grasp and present our product’s value proposition in a way that resonates and clearly articulates how we solve our buyers’ problems, as well as tracking performance and have data to prove what works and what doesn’t is key to be successful. This role collaborates with our Brand and Digital teams to develop innovative campaigns and programs that drive demand and works closely with the Power Tools and Outdoor Product Development teams to develop innovative products and solutions for the Latin America markets.
 
General Responsibilities
  • Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who they are, how they buy and their key buying criteria
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned
  • Collaborate with product management, brand, and digital to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas
  • Understand and document our buyer’s process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make. Drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what is learn
  • Develop product marketing plans in conjunction with the Brand, Digital, and eCommerce teams, including key activities and budgets necessary for demand generation to retain and acquire new customers
  • Assess the effectiveness of the product marketing programs on a regular basis and engage with the cross-functional team to implement required changes
  • Plan new product launches and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan, including transitions, forecasting, certifications, manufacturing timelines, and launch execution
  • Act as the primary thought leader for B+D externally, including customer presentations, training, online messaging among others
  • Work together with country teams to support our sales channels, with high focus on eCommerce, including training them on our products and the problems we solve for our users; develop the necessary marketing tools to enable our channel teams to successfully close the sale
  •  
      Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product marketing experience in multi-national corporations with operations in Latin America with at least 2 years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field. MBA preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Power Point, Excel, Word and collaborations tools such as Slack
  • Familiar with marketing automation tools, CRM, social media, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working, knowledge of financials
  • Ability to present complex material to a wide range of audiences from the end user to the executive team
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in Spanish and English, Portuguese a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties’ vendors. Team player!
  • CPG experience a plus.
