Job Summary:
Controller/Assistant Controller Level Position - Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the accounting and control function of the company, reports operational results and provides necessary financial and control systems.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes policies, procedures, systems and controls for the effective recording, analyzing and reporting of all
financial matters.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Manage cash and the line of credit on a day-to-day basis.
- Prepare, analyze and distribute monthly and annual financial results.
- Maintain relationship with external accountants and provide required information.
- Maintain relationship with legal counsel and provide required financial information.
- Compile annual budget and report results against it.
- Prepare various analyses to support operating management.
- Provide timely and accurate information to assist in decision making.
- Along with management and legal counsel, develop and maintain banking relationship.
- Maintain systems to safeguard company assets.
- Supervise the accounting staff, including review of existing job responsibilities and reporting relationships, assignment of duties, feedback regarding job performance, and development of employees' skill levels.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Liaison with Pinnacle and other IT professionals.
- Provide warehouse with necessary information and forms to conduct cycle count program.
- Prepare balance sheet, cash flow and income forecasts as needed.
- Maintain chart of accounts.
- Prepare quarterly royalty reports and maintain royalty report summary.
- Prepare daily cash analysis.
- Maintain & manage AW reporting, store and internet management.
- Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
- Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operations.
- Collects data to prepare federal, state and local reports and tax filings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in accounting or finance field
- 5 years of experience minimum requirement
- Ability to mentor, delegate work, and discipline in a supervisor capacity
- Highly detailed and organized
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
