Title: Cognos Admin (It requires onsite M-F and candidates must wear a suite/tie)

Location: 2 locations: Hoffman Estates, IL (north of Chicago) and or Milwaukee, WI

Job Summary:

• Oversee the administration and maintenance of the IBM Cognos environment within the organization.
• Utilize extensive experience in metadata modeling to create projects, prepare metadata, define business views, manage packages, set security permissions, and publish content to the portal.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of OLTP/OLAP systems, perform ER modeling, and maintain database schemas including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema for relational and dimensional modeling.
• Manage databases including AS-400 DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Gather requirements from end users and collaborate with stakeholders to develop comprehensive business reports that provide valuable insights.
• Develop Cognos reports and dashboards tailored to the needs of management and business users, utilizing advanced visualization techniques to convey complex data in an intuitive manner.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Cognos Administrator or similar role, with expertise in IBM Cognos BI software.
• Proven experience in Business Intelligence Architecture, Data Architecture, Support/Maintenance, Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Application Development, and Data Warehousing.
• Extensive experience in metadata modeling, OLTP/OLAP system analysis, and database management.
• Proficiency in Cognos administration, report development, and user training.
• Strong knowledge of databases such as AS-400 DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to gather requirements from end users and translate them into actionable solutions.
