Technician Job Description

The expected duties to be performed by a Technician include:
• Monitoring, analyzing and maintaining electrical systems • Surveying buildings and premises • Repairing mechanical systems for ensuring health and safety standards • Inspecting alarm systems and scheduling repairs when required • Performing manual repairs • Conducting general upkeep procedures • Maintaining heating and plumbing systems • Maintaining inventory of repair types of equipment and supplies • Undertaking activities of pest control • Testing devices for improvement, quality and safety control • Coordinating with architects, engineers, and builders • Implementing preventive maintenance measures • Responding quickly in events of emergency and following appropriate safety protocol • Complying with all policies for storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

The desirable qualifications for becoming a Technician are:
• Technical school degree and certification • Prior experience as a technician, technician apprentice, or other related roles • Advanced knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and other systems • Good physical ability and strength of lifting heavy stuff • Working knowledge of common appliances, tools, and other devices • Complete understanding of electrical regulations, construction, materials, and industry • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
