Job Description - Billing Analyst

Under direction, performs specialized employee benefits billing analysis and provides expertise in one or more areas of systems analysis for insurance carriers
Work with business partners to understand billing requirements, document policy details and validate data
Produce employee deduction reports from client Payroll and Benefit Administration Systems
Analyze billing data and prepare it for processing, validate billing premiums by manually calculating rates
Create basic reports for invoice reconciliation, auditing, and data requests
Populate carrier invoices
Provide support to clients, business partners and colleagues as it pertains to invoices and reporting
Document process, status and additional tracking of projects

Requirements

BA/BS in Finance or Computer Science
Minimum of 2 years working in insurance, finance, billing, data analysis, business intelligence or computer science field
Experience in performing information systems analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of business applications
Experience with Database Design, SQL Server queries, advanced Microsoft Excel as/or Access
Accurately read and interpret insurance explanation of benefit plans
Experience with Accounting, ERP, Payroll Systems and their reporting engines
Some knowledge of Project Management Software and other project management tools for task tracking and team collaboration efforts
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must be able to define problems and solutions, prioritize workload, critically think, work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail
Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate; accept direction
Knowledge of employee benefits relating to billing a plus
Flexibility with overtime as necessary
