Data Modeller

DWS is seeking a Data Modeller to support a major enterprise system replacement within a large enterprise environment. This role will play a key part in delivering high-quality data models, data migration outcomes, and business-ready reporting across a complex, data-intensive platform

Where: Melbourne CBD
Type: Max Term
Length: 6 months initially, with possibility of extension
Start: ASAP
Style: Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office
Salary: Up to $185k (inc super)

Key responsibilities and requirements include:

• Designing and maintaining conceptual, logical and physical data models for transactional and analytical systems
• Very strong capability in dimensional modelling (Kimball) and Data Vault methodologies
• Advanced SQL Server expertise including T-SQL development, performance tuning, stored procedures, views and indexing
• Substantial experience across the Microsoft SQL Server stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
• Hands-on experience with Azure data platforms including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake
• Data profiling and data quality assessment using automated tools and custom SQL
• Designing and delivering data migration strategies, ETL processes and source-to-target mappings
• Validating migrated data for completeness and accuracy
• Developing reports, dashboards and datasets using Power BI and the Power Platform
• Producing data artefacts including data dictionaries, data flows, specifications and handover documentation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
