Financial Controller

We are partnering with a well-established Australian organisation seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to support the finance function through a period of operational focus and financial delivery.

This is a key leadership role overseeing core finance operations, financial reporting, and a small but capable team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial information, the smooth execution of month-end processes, and the delivery of timely insights to senior stakeholders.

Working closely with the broader leadership team, you will help maintain strong financial governance, support decision-making, and ensure consistency across all core finance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the month-end close process and financial reporting cycle
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial results and reporting outputs
• Review payroll and key finance outputs as part of the close process
• Prepare and deliver board and management reporting
• Provide leadership, direction and support to a small finance team:
• Ensure strong financial controls, compliance and process consistency across the function
• Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries across the business

About you

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability
• Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment while leading a small team
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Able to balance detail orientation with broader financial oversight
