Make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person living in our dementia-specific cottages.
We are seeking a Lebanese-speaking volunteer to visit an older resident and provide companionship, conversation, cultural connection, and social engagement. For people living with dementia, hearing a familiar language and sharing cultural experiences can bring comfort, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Whether it's chatting about family, sharing memories, discussing Lebanese traditions, or simply spending time together, your visits can help create meaningful moments of connection and joy.
What's involved?
One-hour visits
Visits between 1:00pm and 3:00pm
Monday to Friday
A minimum 6-month commitment
Regular visits on the same day and time to help build trust, familiarity, and connection
No special skills or experience are required. We're looking for someone who is kind, patient, reliable, and able to communicate in Lebanese Arabic.
Please note: This role is focused on providing companionship and building a meaningful connection and is not suitable for work experience or student placements.
