The role contributes to the planning, implementation and continuous improvement of secure, resilient and scalable identity platforms that support operational requirements, strategic initiatives and modern workplace capabilities. The position works closely with infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and project delivery teams to support large-scale migration and transformation activities.Working under broad direction, the Active Directory Engineer provides specialist technical expertise across identity and access management technologies, ensuring services are maintained in accordance with security, governance and operational standards. The role also contributes to automation, scripting and AI-enabled operational practices to improve efficiency, consistency and service reliability.

Key responsibilities:

Deliver and support enterprise Active Directory services across on-premises and hybrid environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security and operational stability.

Support the planning and execution of migration and transformation initiatives involving Active Directory, Entra ID, identity synchronisation and authentication services.

Administer and optimise identity infrastructure including domain services, group policy, DNS, federation services, certificate services and privileged access controls.

Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of secure hybrid identity solutions integrating on-premises and cloud-based technologies in alignment with organisational standards and security requirements.

Develop and maintain automation, scripting and AI-enabled operational practices to improve service reliability, reduce manual effort and support efficient platform management.

Required skills / Experience:

Demonstrated experience administering and supporting enterprise Active Directory environments across complex on-premises and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft identity technologies including Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, federation and identity synchronisation services.

Experience supporting migration and transformation initiatives involving identity infrastructure, authentication services and hybrid cloud integration.

Demonstrated capability developing automation and scripting solutions using technologies such as PowerShell to improve operational efficiency and service reliability.

Knowledge of identity and access management security principles, privileged access management and contemporary cybersecurity practices.

Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex identity, authentication and infrastructure issues within large-scale enterprise environments.
