About the Role
As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a key role in providing high‑quality actuarial and analytical insight to support informed decision‑making across the business. Working within a high‑performing actuarial team, you’ll partner with a range of stakeholders to deliver timely analysis, reporting and modelling that enhances business performance and supports regulatory and operational requirements.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
Supporting pricing, product design and portfolio performance analysis across HBF’s health insurance products
Producing regular reporting on product performance, including claims trends, margins and key drivers of experience
Delivering data-driven insights and clear recommendations to support product and pricing decisions
Supporting regulatory and governance requirements, including contribution to premium round and actuarial submissions
Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Product, Finance and Health Services to deliver timely and actionable analysis
Contributing to continuous improvement of data, models and reporting processes within the actuarial team
Participating in cross-functional initiatives and projects to support broader business objectives
This position is based in Perth on a permanent full-time basis.
About You
You are a naturally curious and analytical professional who enjoys turning data into meaningful insights. With strong technical capability and clear communication skills, you’re comfortable working in a collaborative environment and balancing multiple priorities to meet deadlines. You enjoy learning, improving processes and contributing to a high‑trust, high‑performance team culture.
Ideally, you will have:
A tertiary qualification or relevant experience in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics
Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills, with strong mathematical capability
Well‑developed communication skills and the ability to present recommendations clearly
Experience producing reports and managing competing deadlines
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a changing workload
A collaborative, professional approach and the ability to work effectively within a small, high‑performing team
