ABOUT THE ROLE - Location: Tasmania / New South Wales / Western Australia

We are seeking Umpiring (Sports) Trainers that provide an important support service to the AFL and State League & Talent Pathways Umpires at training and on match days. This role provides important support to the AFL and State League & Talent Pathway High Performance and Medical teams, and to ensure the safe and smooth running of umpire training.

Training venues vary from State to State and applicant need to be available to work at training sessions as well as match days.

The role would suit, but not limited to, a reliable student studying physiotherapy, osteopathy, myotherapy, paramedicine, nursing or exercise science or someone with Sport’s Trainer experience at a club level. We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate and offer internal professional development opportunities at the AFL.

Throughout the football season (February to December) you will be rostered to attend matches on weekends and training nights during the week (flexible to your location and availability).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Key Accountabilities:

• Main duties include taping, acute injury management, sports massage, first aid administration, assisting with hydration, and providing support to ensure a safe and smooth running of umpire training


• All duties align with the Level 1 Sports Trainer certificate


• All duties align with the Level 2 First Aid/CPR certification

Core Competencies:

• Excellent communication skills and reliability.

Mandatory:

• Obtained or willing to obtain the Level 1 Sports Trainer Certificate


• Level 2 First Aid Certificate


• Up to date CPR qualification (annual accreditation)
