Job Description - Allied Health Manager

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and passionate Allied Health Manager to lead and shape the delivery of high-quality allied health services within a leading private mental health facility.  This is a unique opportunity to shape service delivery, expand capability and drive innovation.

Based in a newly redeveloped 112-bed, purpose-built hospital, this role offers the opportunity to work in a modern, therapeutic environment designed to support recovery and wellbeing. The hospital is nationally recognised for its specialised programs in trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), with a strong focus on supporting first responders and veterans.

As the Allied Health Manager, you will be responsible for the operational leadership of multidisciplinary allied health teams and services across the hospital.  You will be joining a strategic, values driven team and be working closely with the executive team to grow the service. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on clinical involvement, with the opportunity to maintain a clinical caseload where appropriate.

The Position

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of allied health services, ensuring that they are consistent with the Divisions strategic and operational objectives to deliver connected and consumer focused health care.

  • Build and develop a high performing and future focused team.

  • Ensures that the workforce is rostered effectively to enable expert clinical services within the Clinical Services Plan and productivity forecasts.

  • Monitors key performance and financial indicators and takes appropriate action to address variance.

  • Uses advanced clinical knowledge and experience to develop, evaluate and improve allied health services and to assist the various allied health professionals to develop new services to meet changing needs and demands.

  • As part of the hospital’s senior clinical leadership team, the Manager Allied Health will work in partnership with other clinical units to ensure clinical and business objectives are met.

  • Partner with hospital managers to contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives and change management.

  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with relevant internal and external professional groups to build and enhance service delivery on a divisional and group-wide basis.

  • Provision of an active clinical caseload as needed.

  • Ensure that the Allied Health caregivers work within a multi-disciplinary approach to care, continued high quality and clinical excellence

  • Maintaining a commitment to patient centred, trauma informed and multidisciplinary care within a values based and mission driven organisation.

You will bring a relevant tertiary qualification in an Allied Health discipline, along with current registration or membership with the appropriate professional Board or Association. You will demonstrate significant contemporary experience in a senior Allied Health clinical role, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality patient care while contributing to leadership, service development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

You will demonstrate strong leadership capability in complex, multidisciplinary environments, with the ability to influence outcomes and drive performance across areas of professional responsibility. You will bring a collaborative and proactive approach to guiding teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality allied health services aligned with organisational goals.

To succeed, you will have a proven ability to lead and manage change, alongside experience implementing new initiatives that enhance service delivery. You will be confident in marketing and promoting allied health services, contributing to growth, innovation and increased awareness of the hospital’s specialised programs and offerings.
