Staff Specialist – Anaesthesia Permanent Full Time or Part Time Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Staff Specialist in Anaesthesia to join a forward-thinking Anaesthetic Department that provides high-quality perioperative care across a broad range of specialties.
About the role
As a Staff Specialist, you will:
Deliver comprehensive anaesthesia and perioperative medicine services across elective, emergency and acute care settings.
Contribute to clinical leadership, quality improvement initiatives, and safe patient care outcomes.
Provide education and supervision to medical students, registrars, and multi-disciplinary clinical staff.
Participate in the on-call roster, supporting a wide range of surgical and critical care services.

About the Department
This Anaesthetic Department operates within a busy regional referral hospital with:
A modern operating theatre complex.
A well-resourced ICU/CCU.
Specialist units in paediatrics, women’s care, renal medicine, cardiac services and cancer care.
Strong links with retrieval services and regional facilities.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
Specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia as an Anaesthetist, or via an approved international specialist pathway.
Broad recent experience in anaesthesia, including acute pain and perioperative medicine, with demonstrated expertise in regional anaesthesia.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
A commitment to teaching, training, research and continuous quality improvement.
Willingness to participate in the on-call roster and provide timely on-site support.
