About the opportunity

Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) invites applications for the position of Assistant Principal Religious Education (APRE). Working collaboratively with the Principal and Leadership Team, the APRE provides strategic leadership to nurture and strengthen the Catholic identity of the school while supporting the faith, learning, and wellbeing outcomes of all students. The successful applicant will play a key role in fostering a vibrant faith community and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the school.
In this position, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and promoting the Catholic identity, mission, and religious life of the school.


• Overseeing Religious Education curriculum, teaching, learning, and faith formation initiatives.


• Providing leadership in student wellbeing, pastoral care, and behaviour support.


• Building strong partnerships with families, the parish, and the wider school community.


• Contributing to strategic planning, school improvement, and leadership team priorities.


• Leading the implementation of the school's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).


• Supporting effective governance, risk management, safeguarding, and compliance practices.

Please note: This is a substantive five-year appointment as Assistant Principal Religious Education (with a further five-year appointment subject to a positive performance review), with an underlying continuing teaching appointment. 

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

• A strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church.


• Experience in teaching Religious Education and leading Religious Education programs.


• Demonstrated leadership experience in Catholic formation, faith development, and school improvement.


• Experience in pastoral care, student wellbeing, behaviour support, and restorative practices.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment


• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)


• For this position you are required to be Catholic (or a faith partner of one of our ecumenical schools).
