Description

The Business Analyst plays a key role within Product & Services Optimisation, identifying, shaping and supporting the delivery of targeted improvements that enhance member experience, operational efficiency and risk outcomes.

Partnering closely with business stakeholders and delivery teams, the role focuses on analysing problems, quantifying opportunities and defining fit for purpose solutions that are practical, sustainable and aligned to organisational priorities.

You will support optimisation initiatives from initiation through to implementation and embedment, ensuring solutions are understood, adopted by processing teams and delivering measurable outcomes for members and Australian Retirement Trust.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane.



Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Identify and analyse business problems, risks and improvement opportunities that enhance member outcomes, efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct benefits and value analysis to support prioritisation, estimation activities and value realisation planning.
  • Partner with stakeholders and delivery teams to define practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Elicit, prioritise and manage business requirements, ensuring alignment to business outcomes.
  • Support initiatives through delivery and embedment, including post-implementation monitoring and benefit tracking.
  • Facilitate workshops, build strong stakeholder relationships and drive shared understanding.
  • Provide insights on progress, risks and outcomes to support governance and decision-making.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices across the team.


Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. 

It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You have demonstrated experience performing business analysis in complex environments and supporting optimisation or change initiatives.
  • Your experience includes eliciting, analysing and managing business requirements and translating them into meaningful delivery outcomes.
  • You'll bring strong analytical skills, including the ability to interrogate and validate data to support evidence-based decision making.
  • You're confident engaging and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders and facilitating productive discussions.
  • You have strong organisational skills and can effectively manage competing priorities in a delivery-focused environment.
  • Your experience includes using SQL or data tools to query, validate and analyse data.
  • You'll stand out if you have experience within superannuation or financial services.
  • You're familiar with Agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies and understand business process and data relationships.
