The opportunity


 


National Media is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Executive to join the Futurebuild portfolio, one of Australia’s fastest-growing platforms for the built environment.


 


This role will focus on growing partnerships, sponsorship and exhibition sales across Futurebuild Australia and Futurebuild Queensland, connecting leading brands with architects, builders, developers, engineers, government and decision-makers shaping the future of building.


 


Futurebuild is not a traditional trade show. It is a national platform focused on the products, materials, systems and technologies transforming how projects are designed, delivered and operated across residential and commercial construction.


 


As part of the role, you will work closely with some of the industry’s leading manufacturers, suppliers and innovators, helping them build meaningful connections with highly engaged audiences through exhibitions, partnerships, content and year-round engagement opportunities.


 


This is an opportunity to join a high-growth portfolio with strong industry momentum, backed by one of Australia’s most established exhibition and media businesses.


 


What you’ll be doing


 


You’ll be responsible for selling exhibition stands, sponsorships and partnership opportunities across the Futurebuild portfolio - connecting leading building product, materials and technology brands with the people designing, building and delivering Australia’s built environment.


 


This is a proactive sales role focused on developing new business, growing existing accounts and building long-term industry relationships across sectors including architecture, construction, development, manufacturing and building technology.


Day-to-day, you’ll be prospecting, presenting opportunities, managing a healthy sales pipeline and closing business, while working closely with exhibitors and partners to help maximise their involvement and outcomes.


You’ll work across Salesforce to manage activity and reporting, collaborate closely with the broader sales and marketing teams, and play an active role in shaping the continued growth of the Futurebuild portfolio.


The role also includes interstate travel for client meetings and industry events, along with onsite involvement during live events - helping deliver a high-quality experience for exhibitors, partners and attendees alike.


 


Must haves:



  • 2–5+ years of B2B sales experience (title and remuneration will reflect your level)

  • A results-oriented mindset with the drive to own a pipeline and close deals

  • Confidence, curiosity and the ability to persuade

  • Enthusiasm for talking to people (not afraid to pick up the phone)

  • Willingness to travel interstate occasionally
