Are you a commercially driven relationship builder who thrives on opening doors, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving growth? This is a unique opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation and play a key role in expanding our professional membership across Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Head, this role is all about growth, influence, and impact. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for building and managing a portfolio of employer accounts, engaging senior decision-makers (including CFOs), and driving new member acquisition and revenue growth. You’ll operate at the intersection of sales, stakeholder management, and strategic partnerships, working closely with employers, universities, and industry bodies to strengthen our presence and grow our member base. This is not a passive account management role—it's a hands-on business development position where your ability to prospect, build relationships, and convert opportunities will define your success.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting through to conversion, to grow membership across a portfolio of ~50 employer accounts. Identify and secure new partnerships while expanding existing relationships, leading strategic conversations with CFOs and senior leaders on workforce capability and professional development. Deliver against ambitious growth and revenue targets through memberships and value-added offerings.
Develop and maintain trusted, high-impact relationships with senior executives, finance leaders, and industry influencers. Position the organisation as a strategic partner to employers while collaborating with universities and education stakeholders to shape future talent pipelines and drive long-term member growth.
Stay close to market trends to inform a targeted, insight-led approach to business development. Maintain a strong pipeline through proactive outreach (including LinkedIn and direct engagement), consistently drive external meetings, and track performance through Salesforce to optimise activity and results.
About You
You’re a commercially driven operator who knows how to open doors, influence senior stakeholders, and convert opportunities into results. You thrive in a target-driven environment and bring a strong balance of sales discipline and strategic relationship management.
