Business Development Manager - Government

Aspen Medical is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – Government to join our Business Development team. Reporting to the General Manager – Business Development, you will play a key role in identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across Commonwealth, state and territory government health agencies.

This is a highly strategic role where you'll leverage your understanding of government procurement, policy and stakeholder engagement to build trusted relationships, influence opportunities before they reach market and position Aspen Medical as a partner of choice. Working closely with our Growth, Capture & Bids and Operational teams, you'll help drive sustainable growth by developing a strong pipeline of government opportunities that deliver meaningful healthcare outcomes.

About the position

As the Business Development Manager – Government, you will:

• Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities across Commonwealth and state/territory government health agencies.
• Build and maintain a robust government sales pipeline, ensuring accurate opportunity progression, forecasting and commercial assessment.
• Develop strong relationships with senior government stakeholders, decision-makers and program leaders to identify emerging opportunities.
• Monitor government policy, funding announcements, procurement activity and market trends to identify early-stage opportunities.
• Lead pre-procurement engagement activities, including capability presentations, Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and customer engagement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with the Capture & Bids team to ensure opportunities transition seamlessly with comprehensive customer intelligence and win strategies.
   

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• 5–8 years' experience in business development, government relations or commercial roles with a strong government market focus.
• Demonstrated success engaging with Commonwealth and/or state or territory government health agencies.
• Sound knowledge of government procurement frameworks, including Request for Tender (RFT) processes, standing offer panels and Primary Health Network (PHN) commissioning.
• A proven track record of developing and converting opportunities within complex, long-cycle government procurement environments.
• A bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Public Policy or a related discipline.
• Experience within primary care, allied health, digital health or health technology, together with postgraduate qualifications in health, policy or business, will be highly regarded.
