About the Role

As a Carbon Analyst within Origin’s Carbon Advisory, Regulations & Reporting team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation’s compliance across mandatory and voluntary carbon and environmental schemes. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to manage reporting, analyse carbon liabilities, contribute to system improvements, and support the growth of renewable generation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and report Origin’s regulatory liabilities across all carbon and environmental schemes, including annual and quarterly obligations


• Prepare and submit compliance documentation such as annual statements, audit reports, and regulator information requests


• Manage environmental certificate processes including creation, acquittal, retirement, and registry administration


• Produce monthly compliance reports with insights on trends, risks, and opportunities for technical and non‑technical stakeholders


• Develop and enhance reporting processes, system controls, dashboards, and analytical models to support compliance and renewable asset accreditation

What will you bring?

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability with the ability to interpret complex data


• Technical proficiency in Excel, Power BI and SQL (Tableau desirable)


• Excellent communication skills to explain insights to technical and non‑technical audiences


• Experience or strong interest in carbon markets, renewable energy, or environmental schemes


• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, Data Analytics, or related


• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and collaborate across business units
