Care Manager — Residential Aged Care

Job Description - Care Manager — Residential Aged Care

Upper North Shore, Sydney | 38 hours/week

Our client operates a purpose-built residential aged care facility on Sydney's Upper North Shore, opened recently and serving a strongly multicultural resident group alongside the general community. They are looking for an experienced Care Manager to work alongside a second Care Manager overseeing day-to-day operations — safe, person-centred care delivered to a high clinical standard, and full compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role

You will take charge of care service delivery, ensuring that:

  • Day-to-day care is managed effectively and to a high standard across the facility, with best practice in clinical and lifestyle care aligned to the Aged Care Act 2024 and its subordinate principles — including services delivered by external contractors (cleaning, catering, laundry, allied health);

  • The facility is properly equipped to enable quality clinical care;

  • The culture between management, staff and residents demonstrates a genuine commitment to quality, and residents, families and staff experience a positive environment.

Budgeting and financial planning, staff management and appraisals, training, AN-ACC, Quality Standards audit, stakeholder liaison, WHS and continuous improvement also sit within the role.

Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse;

  • Minimum 3 years in a Care Manager role or equivalent;

  • Deep knowledge of the aged care sector, its regulation and its funding;

  • Demonstrated compliance results and a working knowledge of the Strengthened Quality Standards and the audit process;

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of AN-ACC assessment;

  • Sound understanding of care planning;

  • People leadership and change management experience, including in-charge responsibility;

  • Ability to work within a diverse, multi-disciplinary team;

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a good command of written and spoken English;

  • Good computer skills, familiarity with an IT care system and the ability to learn new systems;

  • Current National Police Certificate, Australian Financial Security Authority check and flu vaccination certificate.

  • The ability to speak and write an Asian language — Korean or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) — is desirable.

Benefits

  • Attractive remuneration with salary packaging to increase take-home pay;

  • Discounted childcare across the organisation's long day care, before and after school, and vacation care services.
