Job Description - Care Manager â Residential Aged Care
Upper North Shore, Sydney | 38 hours/week
Our client operates a purpose-built residential aged care facility on Sydney's Upper North Shore, opened recently and serving a strongly multicultural resident group alongside the general community. They are looking for an experienced Care Manager to work alongside a second Care Manager overseeing day-to-day operations â safe, person-centred care delivered to a high clinical standard, and full compliance with regulatory requirements.
The role
You will take charge of care service delivery, ensuring that:
Day-to-day care is managed effectively and to a high standard across the facility, with best practice in clinical and lifestyle care aligned to the Aged Care Act 2024 and its subordinate principles â including services delivered by external contractors (cleaning, catering, laundry, allied health);
The facility is properly equipped to enable quality clinical care;
The culture between management, staff and residents demonstrates a genuine commitment to quality, and residents, families and staff experience a positive environment.
Budgeting and financial planning, staff management and appraisals, training, AN-ACC, Quality Standards audit, stakeholder liaison, WHS and continuous improvement also sit within the role.
Requirements
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse;
Minimum 3 years in a Care Manager role or equivalent;
Deep knowledge of the aged care sector, its regulation and its funding;
Demonstrated compliance results and a working knowledge of the Strengthened Quality Standards and the audit process;
Demonstrated experience and understanding of AN-ACC assessment;
Sound understanding of care planning;
People leadership and change management experience, including in-charge responsibility;
Ability to work within a diverse, multi-disciplinary team;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a good command of written and spoken English;
Good computer skills, familiarity with an IT care system and the ability to learn new systems;
Current National Police Certificate, Australian Financial Security Authority check and flu vaccination certificate.
âThe ability to speak and write an Asian language â Korean or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) â is desirable.
