About the role


 


REGISTERED MIDWIFE

 


Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.


 


The midwife at Colac Area Health is responsbile for the delivery of a high standard of midwifery care and works within a strong supported team environment.


 


What’s required? 



  • Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Demonstrated capacity to work across the full role and scope of practice of a midwife.

  • Ability to demonstrate recent, contemporary and evidenced based midwifery practice.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage maternity emergencies.

  • Ability work across a rotating roster with varying demands and responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team in a challenging environment.

  • Ability to organise work in a systematic way, accurate and timely manner and be flexible in a changing environment.

  • Exposure to the interpretation and application of awards and industrial agreements.

  • Computer literacy particularly in Microsoft office software.

  • A Professional and friendly team player disposition who is capable of representing the department and organisation effectively.

  • Basic Life Support competency (adult and neonatal).
