The Opportunity
Moonee Valley City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused City Compliance Officer to join our City Safety & Amenity team. In this diverse and rewarding role, you will help maintain community safety, amenity and public order through a balanced approach to education, engagement and enforcement. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving a broad range of compliance matters relating to animal management, local laws, building site compliance and asset protection. Working closely with residents, builders, contractors, government agencies and other stakeholders, you will provide advice, conduct inspections, investigate complaints and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and Council policies.

Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate IV or Diploma in Statutory Compliance or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in a compliance, regulatory or enforcement environment. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed reports and correspondence, and be confident interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and local laws. Your investigative skills will enable you to gather evidence, analyse information and resolve complex issues, while your strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities will assist you in dealing effectively with challenging situations. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and statutory deadlines, and possess sound computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications. A current Victorian Driver's Licence is required.
