Cleaning Assistant

About the Role

As the Cleaning & Laundry Assistant, you will assist with daily cleaning tasks using industrial equipment to maintain a hygienic environment. You will adhere to safety guidelines while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment, support laundering tasks, manage personal belongings, follow waste management procedures, and communicate effectively with staff and residents. You will monitor budget impacts and report safety concerns for timely resolution.

Responsibilities include:

• Assists with daily cleaning duties using a variety of industrial cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, polishers, mops, and scrubbing brushes.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and Bolton Clarke policies while handling specialised cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety.
• Supports the laundering, ironing, and folding of linen, garments, and other laundry items using industrial washers, dryers, and pressing machines.
• Collects and distributes personal belongings mistakenly sent to the laundry, ensuring all items are returned to the rightful owners.

About You

To be successful in this role, our preferred candidate will have:

• Minimal experience in housekeeping for the Aged in either a nursing home or hospital practice setting is preferred.
• Proficient Knowledge of Industrial Cleaning Equipment, Health & Safety Programs and Policies, Waste Management and Inventory Management.
• Excellent Communication, Customer Experience and Cross-Functional Team Working skills.
