Do you have what it takes to become a Client Payment and Reconciliation Team Leader?

We are seeking, for a 6-month Max Term Contract, a Client Payments & Reconciliation Team Leader to lead and support a high-performing team responsible for delivering accurate and timely client payments, reconciliations and reporting. This is an opportunity to combine your people leadership skills with your operational expertise to strengthen service delivery, improve processes and create a positive experience for our clients and customers.

About the role

In this role, you will lead the Client Payments & Reconciliations team and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of client payment and reconciliation services. You will provide coaching and development to team members, manage resources and workloads, monitor team performance, and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support, coach and develop team members to achieve individual and team goals


• Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, team meetings, training and coaching sessions


• Manage workloads and resource allocation to maintain appropriate operational coverage


• Ensure internal and vendor payments are processed accurately and within agreed service levels


• Oversee the timely and accurate reconciliation, allocation and reporting of payments


• Analyse team performance and implement actions to improve productivity and service delivery


• Identify and mitigate operational risks while supporting process simplification


• Lead and contribute to projects focused on improving efficiency and customer service


• Recruit and onboard team members when required


• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills and experience

• Previous experience leading and developing operational teams


• Strong people leadership, coaching and resource-management capabilities


• Experience in payments, reconciliation, accounting or finance operations


• Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills


• The ability to manage competing priorities and critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• The ability to influence and engage a range of stakeholders


• Experience preparing accurate, complete and clear business or client reporting


• The ability to forecast workloads and plan resource requirements


• Experience contributing to business projects or process-improvement initiatives


• Technical knowledge of accounting systems and processes


• Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or accounting will be highly regarded.
