About the role


McKellar Kids Rehab incorporates the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service and Young Adults Transition Service.  The primary role of the Clinical Neuropsychologist is to provide evidence-based neuropsychological assessment, treatment and intervention for children and adolescents following illness, injury and surgery.


The Clinical Neuropsychologist works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and community partners to deliver coordinated care. The position is based at the McKellar Centre and includes supporting children and youth at home, school and in other community settings.


The Clinical Neuropsychologist is also required to provide secondary consultation to the treating team in relation to neuropsychological issues associated with rehabilitation or health transition, with the aim of maximising the efficacy of the full range of interventions delivered by McKellar Kids Rehab. The Clinical Neuropsychologist will assist in the supervision of Grade 2 Psychologists and Masters and Doctoral students.


 



Key Responsibilities 




  • Provide high-quality clinical care through independent neuropsychological assessment, evidence-based intervention, outcome evaluation and collaborative multidisciplinary care planning

  • Provide clinical leadership and collaboration by contributing to service development, clinical policies and quality improvement, supporting the supervision and development of students and junior staff, and building effective relationships with stakeholders

  • Promote professional excellence and continuous improvement through evidence-based practice, research, professional development, reflective practice, risk management and compliance with professional, ethical and legislative standards



 




What we’re looking for 




  • Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, with an APAC-accredited Masters or Doctoral qualification in Neuropsychology and Clinical Neuropsychology endorsement, or eligibility/enrolment in the registrar program.

  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and independent practice in neuropsychology, with relevant professional development and the ability to contribute to the development and supervision of others.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, build effective relationships and deliver inclusive, culturally safe care
