About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an enhanced mental health service for children, youth and their families in the Central East. The Box Hill Early Psychosis Team is one of two Specialist Early Psychosis Teams in Eastern Health’s Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS). 

We are seeking a 0.8 EFT nurse/case manager for 12 months (fixed term) who has experience working with young people and their families presenting with serious mental health issues including first episode psychosis and mania.  The successful applicant will have experience undertaking mental health assessment, diagnostic formulation, collaborative treatment planning, intensive case management and appropriate multi modal therapeutic interventions within a recovery framework. They will also be available to provide nursing specific interventions including physical health assessments and administering of depot medications. 

The successful applicant will join a skilled and enthusiastic team, with opportunities to develop their skills in family work and alongside case management and clinical interventions within a prescribed caseload. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess: 

• Current registration with AHPRA 

• Post grad qualification in mental health nursing 

• Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience 

• A strong commitment to high quality care 

• The ability to work as part of a diverse team 

• Excellent communication and organisational skills 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment. 

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
