The Role - Cloud Migrations Specialist
As a Cloud Migrations Specialist, you will lead complex cloud transformation programs for enterprise clients on AWS, owning the end -to -end journey from strategy and architecture through to execution and modernisation. You'll drive AWS MAP engagements, shape migration treatment plans using 7Rs and cost of change thinking and govern wave planning, factory setup and cutovers with rigour.
Across every engagement, you'll bring delivery assurance, architecture quality and a secure by design, FinOps -informed approach to the solutions you shape. Beyond delivery, you'll mentor and develop the consultants and engineers around you and contribute to practice growth through accelerators, case studies, and thought leadership.
You MUST be an Australian Citizen with minimum Baseline security clearance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- AWS Solutions Architect – Professional certification (current), backed by 7+ years across cloud, architecture and consulting roles.
- Proven track record leading enterprise AWS migrations end -to -end, with AWS MAP experience strongly preferred.
- Deep AWS architecture expertise spanning landing zones, multi -account design, networking, IAM, security and resilience patterns.
- Strong consulting presence — comfortable running executive workshops, translating complex business drivers into actionable roadmaps and influencing senior stakeholders.
- A natural people leader who mentors and develops engineers, sets delivery standards and provides hands -on assurance across engagements.
Highly Desirable:
- Multi -cloud exposure across Azure and/or GCP, with the ability to draw meaningful comparisons and articulate trade -offs across platforms.
- Hands -on FinOps experience: cost modelling, tagging strategies, chargeback frameworks and ongoing optimisation and governance.
- DevOps and platform engineering depth — CI/CD pipelines, IaC at scale, GitOps, automation and observability practices.
- Modernisation know -how across containers (EKS/ECS), serverless (Lambda) and event -driven architectures.
- Experience delivering in government or regulated industries, with familiarity across frameworks such as ISM/IRAP, PCI -DSS or ISO 27001.
