Commercial Advisor / Senior Commercial Advisor (Power)

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Commercial (West), we have two opportunities available for a Commercial Advisor and Senior Commercial Advisor to join our team supporting APA’s West power generation assets. In these roles, you will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver strong commercial outcomes across existing assets and contractual arrangements.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the negotiation and management of commercial agreements, support commercial optimisation initiatives and help deliver balanced risk outcomes that protect APA’s commercial and operational interests while supporting long term asset performance and growth. These positions will play a key role in the commercial performance, optimisation and growth of our WA power portfolio.

While these roles are ideally based in Perth, we are also open to considering candidates located in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney. Please include a cover letter with your application outlining which role you are applying for and the experience you would bring to the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead/support the commercial execution and day to day management of existing commercial obligations for our WA power portfolio
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify, develop and execute commercial strategies and business improvement opportunities to support value creation.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Maintain accurate records, including management of documentation and group mailbox.
• Work closely with legal, and other internal stakeholders to ensure commercial consistency and effective delivery of commercial outcomes.
• Lead the approval process for new contracts or amendments to existing contracts, up to Board level.
• Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other stakeholders.

Your background

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in a commercial, project development or operations role within the power sector.
• Excellent commercial negotiation skills and a track record of delivering improved financial or operational outcomes.
• Great analytical thinking and ability to interpret technical and financial data to support effective decision making.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams.
