The Opportunity

LegalVision is supporting more corporate and enterprise clients than ever before, so we have created a new Senior Lawyer position in our Leasing team to help us keep up with client demand.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with leading in-house legal teams and Australia’s biggest companies, acting as a trusted legal advisor while gaining deep exposure to complex, high-volume work at scale.

Our market-leading legal membership provides large enterprises and corporate clients with flexible, on-demand legal support that integrates directly with their in-house legal function. Rather than engaging external lawyers on a transactional or hourly rate basis, clients gain access to dedicated LegalVision lawyers who assist with their business-as-usual legal needs.

As a Senior Lawyer in our team, you will deliver technically excellent, efficient, and pragmatic legal support across a broad range of property and leasing matters for landlord and tenant clients.

While we’d love for the successful candidate to be based in Sydney, we welcome applications from candidates elsewhere in Australia seeking a remote work arrangement. 

Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking reviews and drafting of heads of agreement, leases, agreements for leases, licences, subleases, renewals, surrenders and assignments of leases.
• Undertaking due diligence lease reviews for M&A transactions and analysing lease portfolios for assignments of lease and change of control provisions for company restructures.
• Assisting with complex lease negotiations. 
• Providing advice on retail lease legislation (where applicable) and broader property laws.
• Managing client leasing portfolios and providing strategic advice.
• Staying up-to-date with changes in legislation and market practice to provide proactive guidance.
• Collaborating with colleagues across disciplines for disputes and acquisitions and disposals with a leasing component. 
• Regularly liaising and communicating with clients as their key point of contact. 

The Ideal Candidate

• Experienced: 5+ years of experience in commercial property and leasing in a recognised firm or in-house legal team. An unrestricted practising certificate would be our preference.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with highly sophisticated clients.
• A practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial acumen.
• Able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a high-performing team.
• Confident in managing competing priorities across a high-volume portfolio, with a sharp ability to identify what matters most within our client’s businesses and act accordingly.
• Dependable and trusted by clients and colleagues alike to take ownership and see things through.
• Excited to supervise (and eventually manage) junior lawyers to help them learn and grow.
