Join Opal in a key leadership role, partnering closely with senior leaders across the Cartons Business Group. This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, drive commercial outcomes, and play a pivotal role in shaping business performance across a dynamic and evolving operation.

As a trusted financial partner to the business, you will provide strategic and operational financial leadership, delivering meaningful insights that support informed decision-making and long-term growth.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by driving sales growth in this territory through:

• Deliver high-quality, timely financial and commercial insights to support strategic and operational decision-making


• Lead the accounting and reporting function, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, reporting timelines, and Opal policies and procedures


• Drive day-to-day, tactical, and strategic business performance through forecasting, budgeting, planning, and scenario analysis


• Partner with the business on sales and supply proposals, contract reviews, capital investment initiatives, and working capital optimisation


• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities, including systems and IT enhancements that improve efficiency and business outcomes


• Collaborate closely with the Cartons leadership team to provide actionable insights that support continuous improvement and commercial success

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, supported by CPA or CA/ACA accreditation and a commitment to ongoing professional development


• Proven experience within a packaging, manufacturing, or similarly fast-paced industrial environment


• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive business performance, continuous improvement, and strategic decision-making


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the business


• Results-driven leader with strong coaching, problem-solving, and conflict resolution capabilities, able to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
