Community Lead

Job Description - Community Lead

About Us

At Splend, we're on a mission to fundamentally change the way people own and operate a vehicle. With a strategic focus on rideshare, we provide our customers with straightforward, no-strings-attached access to vehicle ownership. But we aren't just about vehicle ownership. We're also fast-tracking the transition to green mobility, leading the way globally in reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector by transitioning our fleet to electric vehicles.

You'll be excited to work in this role if...

  • You love the buzz of building a national events calendar from the ground up and watching your strategy come to life on the day.

  • You get a genuine kick out of turning followers into a real community, across Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and beyond.

  • You want your work to make a tangible difference to thousands of rideshare drivers building better earning opportunities.

About the role

The Community Lead drives growth, engagement and reputation for Splend across the Australian rideshare driver community. You'll develop and deliver community led marketing initiatives, industry-leading events, strategic partnerships and organic social content that builds brand awareness, acquisition and engagement. Balancing strategy with hands-on execution, you'll create scalable programs that connect with drivers at every stage of their journey and strengthen Splend's position as a trusted partner for the rideshare community.

What you'll be doing

  • Own Splend's national events strategy end to end - setting the vision, building the playbook and using data to make every event sharper than the last.

  • Lead the planning and delivery of 2–4 events a month, online and offline, across Australia.

  • Manage communications, invitation strategy, budgets, suppliers and venue logistics for every event.

  • Deliver hands on execution on the ground - from setup to speaker briefings to problem solving in real time.

  • Build strategic partnerships with platform providers, automotive brands and industry players that help Splend show up bigger and more authentically.

  • Own community and content strategy across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit and YouTube.

  • Turn what works into scalable playbooks and reporting systems for events, partnerships and social.

  • Bring sharp, data backed recommendations to leadership to continuously improve performance.

What you'll bring to Splend

  • 7+ years' experience in marketing or events, with a track record of personally leading and delivering events from concept through to on the ground execution.

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in fast paced environments.

  • Proven stakeholder management across internal leaders, external partners and suppliers.

  • Experience owning 6 figure budgets and managing external vendors end to end.

  • A solid grasp of organic social media strategy and what builds genuine community engagement online.

  • Able to travel interstate approximately 1–2 times per month.
