Support cybersecurity architecture and GRC across Defence systems, including accreditation and design review. Your new company You will be joining a Defence-aligned program supporting the delivery and uplift of secure systems within a highly regulated environment. This is a 3 to 4 month initial contract focused on providing specialist cyber security expertise across a range of initiatives, with the opportunity to contribute to meaningful outcomes in a high-impact setting. Your new role In this role, you will provide cyber security architecture and advisory support across both new and existing systems. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to assess risk, review designs, and ensure security is embedded throughout the system lifecycle.Key responsibilities include:
Conducting security risk assessments for new systems and applications ahead of Authorisation to Operate
Providing security advice into the planning and implementation of infrastructure and technology projects
Reviewing existing architectures and identifying opportunities to improve security posture
Contributing to the design of new systems and enhancements, including identifying vulnerabilities and recommending controls
Supporting the development and review of security policies, procedures, and frameworks
Engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate risks and recommendations
Presenting findings and risk assessments to senior stakeholders
Providing ad hoc cyber security operations and advisory support as required
What you'll need to succeed You will bring a strong background in cyber security architecture, with the ability to operate across both technical design and risk advisory functions within secure environments.You will demonstrate:
Experience conducting security risk assessments and supporting system accreditation activities
Strong understanding of secure system design and architecture review processes
Ability to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate controls across infrastructure and applications
Experience working with security frameworks, policies, and governance standards
Capability to communicate complex security concepts to a range of stakeholders
A proactive approach to identifying and improving security posture across systems
Awareness of emerging cyber threats and mitigation strategies
In addition, you will have:
NV1 security clearance (essential)
Experience within Defence or similar secure environments (highly regarded)
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work autonomously
