Data Solution Architect

Full-time | Sydney Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data & Cloud Security Architect to design, govern, and secure enterprise-scale data and cloud platforms. This role focuses on data architecture, governance, DevSecOps, and Azure security architecture, ensuring scalable, compliant, and secure solutions aligned with Zero Trust principles.This is a strategic architecture role, not an operational or support-focused position.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and govern enterprise data architecture using Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Engineering, and Analytics components.
• Define and enforce data governance standards, including data access, security, lineage, and architectural best practices.
• Architect secure DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines, embedding controls such as:
  • Static Application Security Testing (SAST)
  • Software Composition Analysis (SCA)
  • Secrets scanning
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) validation
• Design Azure cloud network architectures with secure segmentation, connectivity patterns, resilience, and high availability.
• Develop and implement Azure security architecture aligned to Zero Trust principles, including:
  • Identity-driven access controls
  • Least-privilege access models
  • Continuous security posture management
• Partner with engineering, platform, and governance teams to translate business and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable cloud and data architectures.
• Provide architectural guidance, design reviews, and governance oversight across data and cloud initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure architecture and Microsoft Fabric.
• Proven expertise in enterprise data architecture and governance.
• Hands-on experience embedding security controls into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps).
• Solid understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, segmentation, connectivity, and HA designs.
• Deep knowledge of Azure security services and Zero Trust security models.
• Ability to design end-to-end architectures that balance security, scalability, performance, and cost.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to clearly articulate architectural decisions.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in large-scale enterprise or transformation programs
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., data privacy, security standards)
• Azure or security-related certifications
