Job Description - Desktop Support Analyst | Norwest Syd | $85-90k+

ROLE SNAPSHOT

You'll be the primary Desktop Support Analyst for ~80 internal users in NSW, providing in-person end-user support across desktop hardware/software; VC/AV; network connectivity; printers; and mobility etc.

A key focus is on improving the perception of IT Support in NSW (customer service, follow up, issue resolution etc), and once done, you can get involved in more desktop, server, and security projects, including taking ownership of the server room in Sydney.

Working with a national IT team you will also support colleagues in interstate offices.

This is a full time in office position requiring occasional travel to different offices in Sydney.


Responsibilities:

  • Desktop Support - level 1 & 2 support across desktop hardware/software and peripherals including Microsoft 365 & Active Directory, laptops/desktops, monitors, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Desktop Security - assist with the deployment & maintained of endpoint security solutions; support endpoint patching & compliance; and monitoring and responding to security alerts.
  • Network and Connectivity - support & troubleshoot LAN, wireless access points, VPN connectivity and IP configuration
  • Video Conferencing Support - support & troubleshoot Teams Meeting Room devices.
  • Mobile Device Management - manage & support mobile devices via the MDM platform.
  • User Training, Documentation, and Ticketing - maintain accurate & timely records in Jira & Confluence; provide guidance & training to end users and communication to non-technical users.
  • Project delivery - contribute to desktop, infrastructure & security projects
  • Participate in on-call roster once every 9 weeks.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / BACKGROUND / QUALITIES:

Suitable for a Desktop Support professional with corporate IT Support experience across Microsoft environments and who enjoys supporting users in-person.

Ideal for someone who can operate independently and is seeking a role where they can take ownership of end-user support and improve IT service delivery.

The following is required:

  • 24-36+ months IT Support / Helpdesk experience troubleshooting and supporting desktop hardware/software , video conferencing, network connectivity and mobility.
  • Experience supporting mid-sized yet complex corporate environments.
  • Core support experience in Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and Active Directory.
  • Logical troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
Personality & attitude:
  • proactive with a good sense of accountability capable of working independently and self-management to proactively find solutions to problems, yet not afraid to ask questions and collaborate with others.
  • Friendly and approachable with excellent communication & customer-service skills who wants to pursue a career in end-user support.
  • Eager to build presence, form relationships, and become the 'face of IT'
  • Keen to learn through 'doing and getting hands-on'.
  • Comfortable working full time in the office.
  • Vehicle and current full drivers license.

This is a full-time permanent role located in North West Sydney with free parking and is offering $85,000 - $90,000+super (depending on experience).
