Early Childhood Educator

Early Childhood Educator Certificate III or Diploma 

Discovery Early Education & Care Centre 

We are a purpose-built Childcare centre located on the Mid-North Coast of NSW at Port Macquarie. We require an Early Childhood Educator Certificate III or Diploma to join our friendly and experienced team. The position is located in an 84-place centre at Sovereign Hills Estate Thrumster, which is 10 minutes from the Port Macquarie CBD. 

As an educator at Discovery Early Education & Care Centre, you will be an active member of a team in a family run centre that provides high quality early childhood education and care to children. You will also be part of an experienced team working in a centre with an Excellent rating and Exceeding in all quality areas since inception. 

Your role will include: 

Developing strong relationships with children at the centre; 

Developing strong relationships in partnership with families; 

Implementing the policies and associated procedures of the centre;  

Working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of the centre's operations. 

Your general responsibilities will include: 

To work in accordance with the requirements of the Children (Education and Care Services National Law Application) Bill 2010, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care; 

Working in accordance with the Code of Ethics Early Childhood Australia and Child Safe Standards; 

Implementing the centres' philosophy in undertaking all other duties 

Education and Qualifications Required 

Cert 111 in children's services or Diploma in children's services 

Working With Children's Check 

Current First Aid Certificate 

Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training 

Ability to work as team member 

Understanding and knowledge of EYLF curriculum 

Understanding of child development and programming 

 
Remuneration for the position will be at the applicable award rate commensurate with your experience and we offer opportunities for advancement and further training within our organisation. We also offer performance bonuses.
