Emergency Medicine Consultant Role Overview

Kalgoorlie Health Campus is expanding its Emergency Department team with 4.4 FTE positions available. As an Emergency Medicine Consultant, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team and deliver high-quality emergency care to a diverse population, including a significant Aboriginal community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading emergency care delivery in a busy regional ED
  


• Collaborating with partners like the Royal Flying Doctor Service and WACHS Command Centre
  


• Mentoring junior doctors and supporting clinical education
  


• Managing complex cases in a fast-paced environment
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re seeking experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants who:

• Have a strong background in rural or remote emergency medicine
  


• Are passionate about improving Aboriginal health outcomes
  


• Thrive in leadership roles and multidisciplinary teamwork
  


• Are committed to clinical excellence and continuous improvement
  

Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) are encouraged to apply. A supervised placement at another WACHS site may be required before transitioning to Kalgoorlie.

 Salary & Benefits

• Salary Range: $395,490 – $502,265 p.a. (inclusive of superannuation and allowances)
  


• Leave Entitlements: 4 weeks annual leave + 3 weeks professional development leave
  


• Regional Incentives: District allowance, travel subsidies, subsidised housing
  


• Salary Packaging: Up to $9,010 for living expenses + $2,650 for meals
  


• Visa Sponsorship & Relocation Support: Available for eligible candidates
  


• Flexible Work Options: Full-time, part-time, sessional, or casual roles
